Note from Gary Kusch: Per the Boston Daily Globe and the New York World, the MIT game was played 11/24 with a final score of 14-12 in favor of MIT. However, the article in the World says the game was won under a Stevens protest. After halftime, with Stevens leading 6-0, MIT scored a touchdown but failed on the goal attempt to make the score 6-4. MIT scored again and again missed the goal after to move ahead 8-6. Shortly afterwards, MIT scored another touchdown, but Stevens protested the score, making a claim of interference on the play. The referee said he did not see the play at all, and he asked the captains to decide the matter. After much discussion, the MIT captain insisted on getting the touchdown. The referee agreed to that but said that when the protest is brought before the Convention, he will explain that he did not see the play. This satisfied the Stevens captain, and play resumed with the protest still in effect. The goal after was good to give MIT a 14-6 lead. A final touchdown and goal after was made by Stevens to bring the score to 14-12 for MIT.

Note from Gary Kusch: All newspaper accounts (Boston Daily Globe, New York World, and New York Times in particular) indicate that Stevens Tech defeated the Columbia regulars and not the JV team. In fact, the New York World article noted that the score, if anything, should have been larger as the Hoboken team was about the lightest that had ever appeared on Columbia Field to play against a varsity eleven.
